Handmade almond polvorones

All polvorones can be purchased here all year round and are presented in clear PVC boxes of 250g or 500g. Approximately each box has 8 / 15 units, depending on the weight of the polvorones. They are all hand wrapped one by one as you can see in the image below. A 100% handmade polvorón in individual packaging.

Hand-rolled in paper, they are perfect to accompany Christmas after-dinner meals. Perfectly packaged. They do not have the supreme quality typical of other polvorones since they have more almonds and their quality is superior.

Buying handmade polvorones is typical of the Spanish Christmas gastronomy along with mantecados. Its origin dates back to the sixteenth century when a payment was made with polvorones de Estepa to the first Marquis of Estepa and since then until today the recipe has remained the custom of eating this Christmas sweet.

Our recipe for this Christmas sweet is centenary and has a supreme quality. Buying polvorones perfectly balanced between sugar and almonds is very difficult and it is only possible thanks to our handmade production. They fall apart almost by touching them. In the past, extra virgin olive oil was also used, but they were very oily.

Our original homemade recipe for almond polvorones was written in an old recipe book of our grandparents and is possibly one of the oldest known, it stands out for its almond flavor.
