Classification and types of organic artisan sweets:
At Turrones la Colmena, we began producing an organic range of sweets as a result of the constant research and innovation we carry out. Perfectly packaged to maintain freshness, our priority is always to maintain the best quality in our products.
In our organic range of nougats and chocolates available to buy, we offer:
- Traditional organic Jijona and Alicante nougats. Certified by the nougat regulatory council and with a designation of origin.
- Organic guirlache nougat. A typical Aragonese sweet made with almonds and honey certified as organic.
- Organic Almond Cinnamon soft nougat. Vegan nougat. With almonds, sugar, and cinnamon. 100% organic. Nothing else.
- Organic pure chocolate nougat with almonds. The best organic chocolate on the market. And it is vegan!
- Organic liquid nougat for cooking: Perfect for cooking and for ice cream parlours.
- Organic almond polvorones: Our best polvorones, now made with 100% organic Spanish almonds.
How are the organic sweets we sell made?
The manufacturing process for our certified organic nougats and sweets is exactly the same as for traditional nougat. The most important difference is the origin of the raw materials: the honey, almonds, sugar, and the rest of the ingredients come from certified organic farming of the highest quality.
Another difference is that the entire organic range we sell in our shop is made on machinery separate from the rest of the “conventional” sweets. Only in this way can we ensure that our organic nougat is 100% organic.
The entire manufacturing process for our organic sweets is subject to constant inspections to certify that our raw materials are 100% organic; in other words, we make nougat that uses no pesticides or chemical elements from sprouting and harvesting through to the final production process.
We consider an organic sweet to be something special—something that must be handled with care. That is why our organic catalogue is not very extensive.
Are organic sweets healthier?
No. The fact that a nougat or sweet is organic means that its ingredients come from organic farming and that its manufacturing process is monitored by an official, independent body, ensuring that this is the case.
The Valencian Community Organic Agriculture Committee is the body that certifies our organic sweets year after year.
