Artisanal Christmas Pastries Selection
The Christmas pastries in this section are varied and adapted to modern times. The products in this section, unlike the vast majority, are not made entirely with almonds, like marzipan or nougat.
Today there is a wide variety of Christmas pastries typically enjoyed during the holidays. Here are some products we’ve been selling for years:
- Marron Glacé: Glazed chestnuts, very traditional in northern Spain. We have them thanks to a collaboration with a manufacturer for whom we make nougat with this product.
- Panettone: Traditional from Italy, it has become a permanent fixture in the Spanish market. Made in Italy with the original recipe. We supply them with nougat and they supply us with Panettone.
- Almond Marquesas: Delicious almond sponge cakes.
- Yemitas: Egg and sugar. Like those from Ávila.
Can Christmas pastries be purchased all year round?
At Turrones La Colmena, we make Christmas sweets all year round, although it is possible that sometimes we may not have the product you are looking for, as we usually produce small quantities due to various factors.
The main reason for controlled production without stockpiling is that our artisanal Christmas pastries are made with 100% natural ingredients and the best-before dates are usually short (some only 3 months).
Some of its ingredients, such as eggs or lard, tend to go rancid quickly, and this, combined with the summer heat (for example), means that the quality of our products is not what we want it to be.
The low demand for artisanal Christmas pastries during the year, coupled with natural ingredients, means our production focuses mainly between October and December.
