The pure dark chocolate nougat with almonds we sell at Turrones la Colmena uses guaranteed top-quality raw materials. We usually make it between September and December, as these are the months when the cold temperature helps us keep its quality intact. Although it is true that we make some batches during the rest of the year to be able to serve our customers all year round because it sells out.
Pure or dark chocolate is the result of mixing cocoa mass and cocoa butter—don’t let the names of these ingredients scare you, they are natural products that come from the cocoa bean. One thing must be clear: the higher the proportion of cocoa, the lower the percentage of sugar. Our dark chocolate nougat has a minimum cocoa percentage of 70%, which means it will always be above 70%. Note that others sell pure chocolate nougats with a 35% minimum… For us, that’s ridiculous.
