The stone-baked nougat that you can buy in our store is handmade following recipes that we have kept since 1854.
This stone nougat has long been part of the Jijonenca pantry. And this is precisely the nougat that was made at home, since it was made more manually, without machinery.
To make turrón a la piedra artesano we only need: Toasted almonds of the best quality, fresh lemon zest and sugar. These ingredients are ground in a stone mill (similar to a flour mill) to create a sweet dough that is weighed and placed in molds. Finally, sprinkle with a touch of cinnamon.
