This nougat is popularly known as Terronico in the province of Alicante, although it is actually a Guirlache nougat with sesame seeds. The flavour is slightly different thanks to these seeds.
At Turrones la Colmena we make it using our own traditional recipe, updated so it is not as hard. More almonds and more honey than sugar are added, creating a caramel with a lower melting point that melts in the mouth as well as crunching.
Ingredients: Toasted almonds (65%), honey, sugar, sesame and wafers (potato starch and sunflower oil). May contain traces of other tree nuts, sesame, milk, soya and peanut.
