Ingredients and preparation of the Nougat spread
Manufactured under the same high quality standards as our classic Nougats, our soft Nougat spread is made in the same way as traditional Jijona Nougat but with the peculiarity of passing through a “Thermomix”.
The ingredients of this creamy Nougat are: Ingredients: toasted ALMOND (69%), honey (17%), sugar, emulsifier (E-417) and egg albumin. May contain traces of other nuts and/or sesame.
The emulsifier (E-417) we use in this Nougat spread is called “Tara Gum” and is a completely natural thickener derived from seeds. It is used in small quantities (less than 2%) to prevent the natural dissociation of almond oil when blended, without altering its taste or texture.
Some companies use milk or cream to make their Nougat spreads. We prefer to maintain the original Jijona recipe and not add dairy.
