Made with the same recipe as always, ourartisan stone-baked nougat is a product that has been part of our pantry for generations. For some unknown reason, it was not sufficiently commercialized and remained in the background, overshadowed by its sibling, Jijona turrón. In recent years, with the rise of organic products and some food intolerances, it began to be demanded and now we sell it as another product.
Although this nougat does not require any cooking in its manufacturing process and the people of Jijona used to make it at home by grinding it with stones—hence its name, a la piedra—it is difficult to ensure it does not end up dry and earthy. That is why we only use high-quality almonds that provide the right thickness and flavor.
Ingredients: Toasted almond (49%), sugar, lemon zest, and cinnamon. May contain traces of other tree nuts, sesame, milk, soya and peanut.
